As long as it continues to snow, and the cold weather stays, we will be offering ice skating everyday. If you are a beginner, come down on Saturdays between 11am and 1pm for an introductory lesson. We also still have snow shoes and skis available for the high mountain trails. Rent a pair to go up into the Rocky Mountain National Park or Wild Basin area for a day or two!
Come join us March 31st for a large Easter Brunch! We’ll be serving crab legs and blueberry cheesecake French toast, there’ll be a carving station with ham and much more! The brunch will run from 10am to 1pm. Call our front desk for more details.
The first annual Estes Park Restaurant Week runs from April 12th to the 24th. We are participating, and offering you your choice of a three course meal from our menu for only $20.13.
On April 26th, help us choose our wine list at our first ever Voters Select wine tasting. We will be offering a variety of wines from around the world. Whether you know a lot about wine, or a little about wine, this is for you. We will have a representative present to explain the wines, their origin, taste and history. We’ll pass out voting cards, pick your favorite wines, and help us determine our new wine menu!
Hi there, my name is Ricky D. Elliott, AKA, Ricky the Wrangler. I learned to ride and start horses at an early age. That is when my love of horses and cowboyin’ first started.
I was born and raised in the Oklahoma Panhandle, also known as “No Man’s Land”. I was the youngest of eight kids. I had five sisters and two brothers. I graduated from Panhandle State University with a Bachelors of Science in Agricultural Business and a Minor in Animal Science.
I went on the operate the family ranch for a while, and “cowboyed”, or day worked in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Kansas and Colorado from 1988 to 2006 when the drought forced me out and I started working construction. This brought me back to Colorado.
I’ve always loved the mountains ever since my dad brought us here on vacation when I was young. I got my first Wrangler position, and that is where I discovered that I really enjoyed talking to people on the rides and getting to know them.
I found myself at Aspen Lodge at the end of last year giving sleigh and wagon rides, and now have been given the opportunity to operate the Livery. I am very excited, because it is the most beautiful scenery for horseback rides in the world. There are some of my favorite activities here too, such as hiking, skiing, rafting, camping and hunting. There’s no place better than Colorado.
I hope you see y’all real soon!

Shakespeare tells us that life is a play and that we are all actors or actresses in this magical play. Most people are so attached to the character they portray that they are unwilling to take off the mask to face reality. Living in fantasy and illusion can only suffocate the true self. Learn to face life with conscience, mercy and forgiveness. Then, there is no dust that needs to be cleaned and there is no stress to experience.
