Restore Aspen Lodge
Help us restore and rebuild this property
Progress Report - February 28, 2014
We have been working very hard over the winter and have successfully restored water service to the Lodge building. Within a few days, we anticipate restoring water service to the Restaurant and other buildings. As you can well image this effort has proven to be quite difficult and expensive. Any additional financial aid that you can give to help restore this historic Colorado lodge property to full operational status will be greatly appreciately. We will be fully operational on June 1st, 2014 and want to remain one of the premiere mountain lodges in all of North America.
Aspen Lodge Resort and Spa hit by a landslide.
On September 12, 2013 at approximately 10pm, torrential rains from a storm over central Colorado created a massive catastrophic event over Twin Peaks near Estes Park, Colorado. Mud and trees destroyed everything in its path and eventually reached the Aspen Lodge Resort & Spa, causing devastating destruction to the infrastructure, cabins, stables and lake. Many of the employees living on the property have been displaced. Thankfully, no one was injured but the situation remains critical. The Lodge water system was destroyed and those living there are without clean running water, hot water, and a sewage system.
This beautiful property, of over 80 acres, is currently covered with 3 feet of mud and debris. A massive clean up of the property and surrounding areas, as well as rebuilding the road and water systems, is needed as soon as possible.
Please join our efforts to rebuild this community. Each and every donation, regardless of size, will have a profound impact on restoration and preservation of this beautiful area. We are gladly accepting volunteers to help clean up the lodge and the property. Please contact us at 970-586-8133 for volunteering opportunities.
Thank you for any support you can give - whether a donation, a thought, or a prayer.
